Middle Atlantic 2023 PGA section merchandiser of the year for public courses
In 2023, Willy Lutz - the Director of Golf at Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club in Leesburg, VA - had the idea to create a custom logo and golf shirt for his members. Willy wanted each detail of the golf shirt to represent the uniqueness and history of his course. Willy turned to REP18 for the project.
Raspberry Falls didn’t have a members only logo, so the first step was to create a new logo that resonated with course’s membership.
The property was formerly a raspberry farm and a host to fox hunts. As a nod to the property’s history, Willy and the REP18 team designed a logo of a fox eating a raspberry. The red buttons and inside-collar were carefully selected to match the raspberry in the fox’s mouth.
The architect of Raspberry Falls is the renowned Gary Player, who famously wears black and white. To pay homage, a white logo script and a black shirt was selected.
The current Raspberry Falls logo is iconic and everyone felt it was important to include it in the shirt design. We chose to place the raspberries icon in the current logo on the left sleeve so that members could still identify with its current branding.
In addition to creating the logo and golf shirt, the REP18 team helped Willy communicate with his members throughout the process. The REP18 team created a website where members could make preorders and helped write email copy that Willy used to excite his membership. REP18 delivered high quality golf shirts in the Fall of 2023 that have received strong feedback from members.
